Introduction to 湖南金鹰纪实卫视
金鹰纪实卫视是 “电视湘军” 于2008年开始重金打造的一个专业化纪录片频道，它的前身为湖南经视道旗下三大强势媒体之一的生活频道。目前常规播出的有十个栏目。其中自办栏目五个：《我的记录片》、《点赞纪录片》、《你懂得不够》、《剧爱扒历史》、《故事湖南》；引进栏目五个：《青春中国》、《历史片场》、《寰宇地理》、《动物星球》、《探索》。
2015年6月25日，湖南广播电视台金鹰纪实频道经广电总局批准上星播出 [2] ，成为继上海纪实、北京纪实后第三个上星播出的省级纪实卫视。自此，湖南和北京、上海一样，一个省级广电机构，同时拥有综合、卡通、纪实三个卫星频道。
