鄂尔多斯汉语新闻综合频道在线直播的前身是2001年成立的原鄂尔多斯电视台新闻中心，在此之前是原鄂尔多斯电视台新闻部。2010年，根据鄂尔多斯广播电视台关于频道专业化改革的要求和部署，在原新闻中心的基础上组建成立了鄂尔多斯广播电视台新闻综合频道。
目前频道共有四档自办栏目：《鄂尔多斯新闻联播》、《百姓直通车》、《鄂尔多斯聚焦》和《七月新视线》。一直以来，汉语新闻综合频道紧紧围绕市委政府的中 心工作开展宣传报道，在市委宣传部、市广电局、鄂尔多斯广播电视台的正确领导下，各项工作有条不紊的推进，频道专业化、绩效制度改革等工作都卓有成效。频 道内各档栏目按照上级安排部署和全市舆论宣传重点结合栏目自身特点，策划制作了多个大型主题报道，紧紧围绕全市近年来的重大事件和重要节日等进行了集中报 道，频道内精品创作成绩斐然，每年都有数件新闻作品获得自治区级以上各项奖励。
