2020年3月5日，生态环境频道由广电总局正式批准播出，生态环境频道（英文名称：Ecology and Environment TV，简称EETV），别名绿台，是唯一以生态环境为主题的专业高清电视频道，全天24小时滚动播出。旨在更多聚焦生态环境主题，全面贯彻党和国家关于环境保护的方针政策，配合中央宣传工作，及时、准确报道生态环境资讯，普及生态环境科学知识，带动中国经济建设与环境保护双向共赢，促进我国生态环境产业健康发展，为中国生态环境宣传服务，为人民群众的健康福祉服务。
