恩施电视台是经广电部批准建立的地市级电视台，位于全国最年轻的少数民族自治州——恩施土家族苗族自治州，是湖北省唯一被纳入国家西部大开发的地区。恩施电视台始建于1987年，2001年实行局台合一管理体制，经过20多年的发展，己成为全州人民公认的强势主流媒体。思施电视台现有恩施一套（新闻综合）、恩施二套（都市频道）、恩施三套（影视频道）等。2004年11月率先在全国将本台节目通过光纤网络传送到全州所有的市、县、乡镇（2004年11月19日中央电视台《新闻联播》进行了报道），有线光纤网络、无线网络双重覆盖，覆盖地域面积3万平方公里，覆盖人口400余万，拥有一支稳定并逐步扩大的收视群体。
恩施电视台拥有一大批高素质的采编人员和技术制作、网络维护管理人员。自办栏目主要有《今晚九点半》、《恩施新闻联播》、《超智宝贝》、《警坛热线》、《消费前沿》、《对话》、《走在乡间》等,其中《今晚九点半》被评为全省十大精品栏目。每天黄金时间播出20部（集）以上优秀电视剧。栏目的精品化、频道的专业化和电视剧合理科学的编排，赢得了全州收视群体普遍欢迎。
