丹阳新闻频道隶属于镇江市丹阳市融媒体中心，是丹阳市现阶段唯一正常播出的电视频道，前身是丹阳电视台一套主频道，1990 年 12 月 30 日正式开播；早年丹阳电视台曾开设民生频道、快乐 3 频道两套附属频道，后陆续关停整合，全域电视资源统一归集至新闻综合频道运营，现已完成高清制播升级改造，是丹阳本土权威性最高、覆盖范围最广的官方主流视听阵地。
2019 年丹阳市融媒体中心挂牌组建后，频道纳入全媒体一体化采编播体系，依托融媒体 “中央厨房” 统筹内容生产。频道立足丹阳眼镜名城、齐梁故里地域特色，承担市委市政府政务宣传、政策解读、城乡建设记录、民生诉求对接、齐梁历史文脉传承、地方文旅推广各项职能；有线数字电视、地面无线数字信号全覆盖全市各镇区、乡村，节目同步接入我的丹阳 APP、丹阳发布新媒体矩阵，支持线上直播、节目回看，构建大屏 + 移动端全媒体传播网络。
