铜陵市广播电视台于2010年7月组建，为铜陵市委、市政府直属正县级全额定补事业单位，归口市委宣传部管理，内设六个部门，共有干部职工200多人，其中80多人具有中级以上职称。
目前，铜陵市广播电视台拥有广播三个频率，分别是新闻综合频率、交通生活频率、音乐故事频率；电视拥有三个频道，即新闻综合频道、生活服务频道和影视娱乐频道。广播电视节目日播出时间100多个小时，节目信号覆盖周边10多个县市。
近年来，铜陵市广播电视台抢抓机遇，锐意创新，在节目策划、制作和播出上取得了新成效，宣传报道、队伍建设、事业建设、产业发展等方面工作迈出了新步伐，一大批优秀广播电视新闻、社教专题栏目和作品先后在国家和省级广播电视节目评选中获奖，综合实力在全省市级台中位居前列。
