2023年6月13日，经国家广播电视总局批准，西安广播电视台(集团)影视频道更名为戏剧影视频道。
更名后的戏剧影视频道将围绕“戏剧”和“影视”定位，推动戏剧艺术传承创新，丰富活跃市民精神文化生活，推出一批服务性强、观众喜闻乐见的特色文化节目和品牌栏目，带动全社会关注节目内容、参与节目互动，实现群众性文艺活动的普及、传承，坚定文化自信，引领时代风尚。
西安广播电视台戏剧影视频道总监 连秋慧：按照频道专业化建设的要求和戏剧影视频道定位，我们正在策划制作一系列包括《西安有戏》、《丝路文》、《艺百姓舞台》还有《科普西安》《丝路戏苑》在内的一系列有特色的全媒体节目和戏剧进校园、戏剧进社区等群众性文化活动。我们有信心把戏剧影视频道打造成为，弘扬中华优秀传统文化和传播社会主义先进文化的重要平台。
