乌海电视台是中共乌海市委、乌海市人民政府的主要新闻宣传单位之一，前身是乌海电视转播台，1984年2月1日，更名为乌海电视台，同时开始播出自办节目，标志着乌海电视台的正式成立。现有职工104名，电视台下设11个部门，现拥有两个频道，每天播出13小时。如今是是乌海市最具影响力和竞争力的主流媒体之一，曾多次受到内蒙古自治区党委、政府，乌海市委、市政府的表彰。
