«Россия-1» — общероссийский государственный телеканал, принадлежащий Всероссийской государственной телевизионной и радиовещательной компании (ВГТРК). В анонсах упоминается, как телеканал «Россия». Вещает круглосуточно из Москвы.
«Россия-1» является флагманским телеканалом ВГТРК. Имеет единые эфирные окна для всех региональных филиалов ВГТРК, в которых транслируются местные новостные блоки «Вести. Местное время» и программы собственного производства в блоках «Местное время. Суббота» и «Местное время. Воскресенье». В отдельных регионах (республики Башкортостан, Карелия, Татарстан, Удмуртия, республики Северного Кавказа и некоторые другие субъекты РФ с титульными нациями) выделены дополнительные эфирные окна для трансляции программ на национальных языках.
Телеканал имеет версию в формате высокой четкости (на май 2020 года — только в одном дубле (+0) для зоны вещания «М»).
По состоянию на 2017 год на телеканале работает 335 человек.
