宁夏卫视，全称宁夏广播电视总台卫视频道，创立于1970年10月1日，1971年1月1日正式播出，1980年开始播出彩色电视节目，1998年9月9日正式上星播出。
2003年4月1日，宁夏卫视通过亚太IA卫星覆盖全国及东南亚、南亚等地区。
2009年，宁夏卫视频道在贵州省、河南省、山东济南和烟台、江西南昌、江西九江、广东佛山落地；同年12月，宁夏广电总台卫视频道获得“全国巾帼文明岗”称号。
2010年，宁夏卫视与上海第一财经合作，为全国观众特别是投资者带来收视体验。2014年，宁夏卫视与第一财经合作终止。
据央视索福瑞媒介研究公司2002年调查报告显示：宁夏电视台综合频道（卫视）覆盖人口一亿，频道综合人气指数居全国第14位，居西北五省区第2位。
