纬来体育台是纬来电视网旗下的运动专业频道，从1997年起开始转播中华职棒赛事而闻名。
在2014年因和MPS公司谈判未果，失去中华职棒转播权，旗下知名棒球主播徐展元也遭到挖角。但同年7月19日因MPS公司决定和中职解除转播合约；也使原本转播单位博斯运动频道无法继续转播。联盟决定以后由球队自行寻找电视转播频道。8月6日和中信兄弟与义大犀牛签约转播上述二队主场赛事，因而重回中华职棒转播。2015年和二队续约至2017年；而义大犀牛也因在该年更名为富邦悍将承接转播合约，但在合约走完后，2018年1月31日富邦与WIN TV签下三年合约，纬来2018年球季起将只转播兄弟主场赛事。
2014年10月28日，与美国国家篮球协会（NBA）签订为期三年的总代理合约，成为NBA在台湾的官方合作媒体及总代理。2017年12月8日再度签订为期五年的合约，并与爱尔达电视台、Eleven Sports、LINE Today结为合作媒体。
2015年4月1日起，启用高清版本“纬来体育台HD”，并在部分数位有线电视上架。
2016年11月25日起，SD版频道改为16:9比例播送。
