上海浦东广播电视台的前身为上海南汇广播电视台，浦东人民广播电台，浦东有线电视台三家媒体。南汇电视台始建于1986年，是上海郊区创办最早的电视台之一。当时担任上海市市长的江泽民同志欣然为电视台题写了台名。2009年7月20日，三家媒体整合后正式更名为“浦东广播电视台”。
