中阳县电视台的前身可追溯至相关广播电视机构，其现今主体为中阳县融媒体中心（中阳县广播电视台），于 2020 年 9 月 22 日正式成立，注册地址位于中阳县新城广电大厦中钢路 11 号，作为事业单位承担着当地广播影视相关服务职能，内设办公室、新闻部、制作部等 10 个机构，现有在职事业人员 71 人。该台以 “讲好中阳故事、传播中阳文化” 为核心，经营范围涵盖新闻广播、专题广播、文艺广播、电视节目制作与播出转播、广告经营及广播电视监测等，旗下《中阳新闻》等节目深入覆盖县域 1441 平方公里土地，每年播出大量涉及当地大事小情与百姓冷暖的新闻内容，同时积极对接省级、市级主流媒体发稿，为建设和美厚实中阳提供有力舆论支持，其无线数字覆盖工程的推进更让信号接收与收视效果持续优化。
