Introduction to Talk TV
Talk is a British free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel owned by News UK Broadcasting. A spin-off from News UK's talk radio network TalkRadio, the channel primarily airs opinion journalism and news discussion programmes.
The channel first launched on 25 April 2022 as TalkTV, which was carried on Freeview, Freesat, satellite and cable providers, as well as streaming platforms. It primarily carried video simulcasts of TalkRadio programmes, but broadcast a lineup of several original programmes, headlined by its flagship programme Piers Morgan Uncensored —a talk show hosted by Piers Morgan.
In March 2024, citing that its programming had a larger audience on digital platforms such as YouTube than on linear television platforms (where viewership was comparatively low), News UK announced that TalkTV would discontinue its carriage on television platforms and switch to being a streaming-only channel. In May 2024, TalkTV rebranded as simply "Talk", and was phased out from distribution on television providers. Piers Morgan's programme had similarly ended its run on TalkTV in February 2024 for similar reasons.
