Introduction to TGRT EU
TGRT (Türkiye Gazetesi Radyo Televizyonu), özel televizyonculuğun geliştiği ilk yıllarda İhlas Holding tarafından 22 Nisan 1993 yılında kuruldu.
Kanalın ilk yayını dönemin Cumhurbaşkanı Turgut Özal'ın cenaze töreni oldu. Milliyetçi ve Muhafazakar bir yayın politikası belirleyen kanal, magazinsel programlar ve aile değerlerini önemsemeyen diziler yerine, haber, belgesel ve kültürel ve ailesel konuları önemseyen diziler yayınlamıştır. Ayrıca TGRT, 1993 yılında İhlas Holding bünyesinde kurulan İhlas Haber Ajansı sayesinde, TGRT ciddi izlenme oranları elde etmiştir. 2000'li yıllara kadar başarıyla büyümeye devam eden TGRT yayın akışı listesinde yaşam ve kadın içerikli programlarda yer almaya başlamıştır.
2004 yılında yönetim kurulunun aldığı ortak karara göre TGRT'nin kardeş kanalları, TGRT Haber, TGRT Pazarlama ve TGRT EU kanalları yayın hayatına başlamıştır. İlerleyen yıllarda İhlas Holding, FOX TV'nin kurucusu News Corporation şirketine ortak olmuştur. Ancak kanalda işler istenildiği gibi gitmediği için İhlas Holding artan borçları kapatmak için TGRT EU, TGRT Haber, TGRT Pazarlama ve TGRT FM'i kapsamayacak ve TGRT markasının kendilerinde kalması şartıyla kanalın yayın haklarını ortak oldukları News Corporation kanalına devretmişlerdir. İlerleyen süreçte News Corporation şirketi TGRT'nin karasal yayın frekansları ve yayın haklarının birçoğunu sattı. Günümüzde TGRT markası, TGRT Haber ve TGRT Belgesel ile TGRT EU üzerinden yayın faaliyetlerini sürdürmeye devam etmektedir. Ayrıca Türk yazılı basınında aktif rol üstlenen Türkiye Gazetesi'de İhlas Holding'e aittir.
